SNOW DAY!

Well, we finally got a "good" snow!

We started to do some school this morning but were way too distracted by all the beautiful snow. Nana showed up with Snow pants and boots for Ava (Super big thanks Nana!) and the next thing I know we are outside!
Ava was not too into getting her picture she just wanted to play.

Sam and Ava had So so so so so much fun! However, not as much as Chloe Brennan... that silly puppy loves the snow.. Sam totally loves the icicles! We now have several in the Fridge.

We were disappointed to remember we left our sled at Papaws so we improvised and rode the snow shovel around the yard... Ha who needs a gym!

I hope you enjoy the pictures!

Avelynn was here but she was so excited she fell asleep worring about her Jamie!

She was very relieved to see that Jamie is happy and healthy and with her Oliher as Avelynn lovingly calls him!

After Several hours of being confined to the Hospital we went to McDonalds Playplace and then on to see Hotel for Dogs! The Kids had a Great Day and totally missed their lessons, Oh well, there is always tommorow (smiles)!

How Many Colors Does it take to make White Light?

This is Sam lost in Starfall!

Samuel and Avelynn made color wheels today!

We used our compass to make a circle of white foam. Divided it into 6 (almost) equal sections.

Colored in Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange, and Purple. When we attached our wheels to a pencil and spun them like a top... the foam appeared white again!

Sam Says " its magic"

This experiment was lots of fun and produced alot of laughs! We talked about Sir I Newton and his refraction of white light, but Sam is settled on it being magic and that is fine with me! Smiles

January Learning!

We are so excited! Sam and I have been working with his handwriting! He is now able to identify the entire alphabet by sight and many of them by sound! We are really moving fast! He enjoys playing on Starfall.com and playonthefarm.com. Thanks Terah for those suggestions!
Samuel Loves his science. We have most recently made and flown balloon Rockets! It took several tries to get our rocket all the way to the moon (or the other side of the room) but I am pleased to say that with some persistance and a bit of light headedness on Mommys part, we finally did it! Our Rockets made it to the moon both empty and with a spaceman attached!

Today we found that something really cool happens when you mix wood glue and Borax! We made our own slime! Samuel and Avelynn were patient with Mommy as I misread the directions several times before getting it right! Avelynn wanted her slime to match her clothing so while she enjoys her science she is still a Diva at heart! Samuel is still playing with his slime now 4 hours later! Just in case anyone wants to make their own slime just dissolve 1 tbl of Wood Glue in 1 tbl of water add food coloring to match your clothes (haha) in another container dissolve 1tbl of borax in 1tbl of water. Add the Borax to the glue and mash and mix with your fingers! You will have to play with it a bit to get it to get the best consistancy! Enjoy!
Science is So much fun! Now we are off to dance! Enjoy the Slideshow off to the Side!
